Well it’s almost launch day but I wanted to let everyone who’s been involved in helping us to get a sneak preview of the new campaign materials. First of all, thank you for all the fantastic input. It really played a role in making significant changes in the campaign materials.
Just to name a few of the changes:
1. Right off the bat- new name- Solving Life’s Problems
2. We are using results from the OCLC report and changed phrasing to call for stories that describe how the library is a transformative force- this approach will help you appeal the people you need to get those budgets passed!
3. We are using BOTH approaches PLUS adding one we had designed for YAs. The votes were so close that it just made sense to go with them both!
4. No more sanctuary- I think you’ll love the new concept- feeds into the urgency of “Green”
5. We are using “New Jersey Libraries”
6. We’ve made library stand out more
7. The text looks small but these posters are really big and the text works great. Also they will be printed on glossy paper… very cool.
NUMBER ONE: Going Green
NUMBER 2: Famous
NUMBER 3: Exercise
We’ll also be giving libraries stickers, shelf talkers and “Tell us Your Story” rack cards (click on link to download the PDF)
Rack Cards.
The campaign is going to help you build a solid storybank that will help you with your advocacy efforts and teach you to turn those stories into compelling multimedia stories that you will be able to use for advocacy, fundraising and promotion of your library. Plus as a bonus, we’ll have a contest running that will give your library a chance to win a Door to Door visit from StoryCorps!!!
More to come…
Hope you are as excited about these pieces as I am. What do you think? -Nancy

From Karen Kilpatrick:
Thank you very much for this. How very exciting to see material that is, indeed, excellent!
I like these ads a lot. They’re bright, clean, and visually appealing. I also like the fact that the text is simple and not full of library jargon.
Even though I”ve been seeing this project getting built, I’m still amazed with the finished pieces. Clean design, succinct text – great job!
These came out so good! I love the “Going Green” split image poster. An timely message. Great work!
