The workshops for Solving Life’s Problems are underway. We are looking for libraries interested in sponsoring the following workshop any weekday afternoon from 1- 4:30 p.m. If you host the event your staff may attend for free. We will need a space that will accommodate 20 people.
We’ll take care of registration. We’ll need you to provide coffee and tea and a light snack.
Workshop One: Telling your library’s story
The Art of Telling a Compelling Story to Gain Support for your Library
Presenter: Nancy Dowd
The single most important skill for librarians is the ability to share your library’s story in a compelling way so people want to help you succeed. This workshop will help you significantly improve your ability to “tell your story” and win support from voters, government officials or investors. This is a hands-on workshop.
What You Will Expereince:
• How best to Tell Your Story using the “Three-Act” Storytelling Method
• Hands-on personalized practice in a safe, interactive peer group
• Tips, Tricks, and Techniques
• A memorable experience plus great materials
Who should attend?
This skill will help almost everyone in your library.
We will provide you with a complete manual including materials you can share with staff members who don’t attend.
Attendance limited to 20 people.
If you are interested in hosting this workshop contact Amy Kearns email: amy@cjrlc.org.
Nancy –
Mount Laurel would love to sponsor a workshop here. When would you like to schedule it?
Kathy
Excellent! I’ll email you. -Nancy
Hi Nancy:
If you stil have a need for space, the Cherry Hill Public Library would also love to host a workshop.
Let us know!
I touched base with our project coordinator today.
Please email me if high registration numbers prompt the need for an additional South Jersey location.
Feb. looks promising – perhaps the 18th?
Thank you! The 18th is already booked, I’m speaking at the New Director’s program. I’ll email you, I’m sure we can find a date. – Nancy
Nancy,
Please keep Edison in mind for another workshop.
We are centrally located, which seems to be helpful.
